Bean Station TN. seeks to set new Guinness Record for cooking the worlds largest pot of beans

9/11/07 -- The small town of Bean Station TN. is seeking to break the Guinness Record for the worlds largest pot of beans during their Harvest Pride Days Festival (October 21 & 22). Bush Beans of Chestnut Hill, TN will be donating 1,200 pounds of dry pinto beans that will be cooked in a 6 foot diameter, 600 gallon stainless steel pot. Outdoor Oven Company has donated to the construction of the large cooking pot making us a gold sponsor. The current World Record is 350 gallons of baked beans set back in 2002 by the city of Horace, North Dakota, according to the Guinness World Records web site.

10/22/07 -- The beans have been cooked and the information has been submitted to the Guinness Book of World Records and Bean Station is awaiting conformation from them, we will keep you posted of the results.
